Comments:

  • Had no intention of finding any matches for our family, updated homestudy several times. But {name withheld} never once approached us in six years with any children to place in our home. Even went so far as to deem our family unapproved for adoption. She later resinded that homestudy and was reprimanded for it

Additional comments:

  • Although our experience with Hillsdale DHS was horendious. We were persiverent. We have adopted four children through private agencies and MICWA. We would like to adopt again if there is a child(ren) that want a great loving home and family. We inquired on Kaylee, a 12 year old girl, but as we do not have a completed homestudy we are not even being considered. Homestudies are time consuming and emotional for a family, and can be costly. They are only good for one year. We would be happy to go through this process if we are going to adopt a child. But after having completed several without so much as a call I will not put our children through that with no end results. I feel We have alot to offer as a family, and a great home, school and community to offer a child. The five girls we have adopted have thrived in our home. They have all exceeded any worker or therapists expectations. They only needed a family and place to call home. Four of our daughters have come from out of state, it's sad that MIchigan has no children that need a home.
