Location: Kellogg Center, 219 S. Harrison Rd., East Lansing, MI 48824
Details: The Office of Family Advocate, along with Office of Workforce Development and Training, is hosting the 2nd annual Michigan Suicide Prevention Conference on August 30, 2016.
This year, only child welfare workers and foster parents are invited to the event and every attendee will receive safeTALK suicide alertness certification. For more information about safeTALK, visit www.livingworks.net/programs/safetalk.
In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of workshops specifically related to suicide prevention. Workers can register themselves and/or a foster parent who’s interested through the registration link below.
Cancelations: We are able to provide safeTALK certification for every attendee due to generous funding from Transforming Youth Suicide Prevention in Michigan grant held by MDHHS. If you register and later determine you cannot attend, please email your cancellation to MDHHS-OFA@michigan.gov as soon as possible to allow their spot to be filled by another worker. On August 23rd, the Conference Committee will provide a list of registered attendees to each agency/department director and instructions for last minute cancellations.
