Introducing Anna!

About Anna:

Anna can be a likeable and engaging child who often demonstrates a good sense of humor. She can be insightful about her feelings and past experiences, is able to set goals, and is willing to work toward achieving them when motivated. Anna would like to go to college and has a dream of becoming a pediatric nurse in the future.

Anna is currently living in a residential setting where she is working on developing appropriate emotional behavior and coping skills. Her moods and behaviors can be highly unpredictable which has created safety concerns in each of her placements. Anna can be aggressive and may demonstrate other acting out behaviors toward peers and adults and requires constant supervision to help facilitate successful social interactions. At school Anna does best in a small and highly structured classroom where she can receive personalized attention. She is intelligent; however, challenging behaviors often limit greater success.

Anna may do best with a two-parent family where she is the only or youngest child. The family should have the capacity to provide vigilant supervision with firm and consistent guidelines and limits. A family for Anna should understand that a gradual and extended visitation period will be necessary to allow Anna the opportunity to complete the goals of her current placement, while allowing the family adequate time to get to know and understand her in order for them to make an unconditional commitment.
