Parenting Children with Challenging Behaviors with trainer Laura Sanders. 

This workshop helps caretakers to identify the early signs of agitation in children and focuses on a clear and concise approach to intervening with these children at the first signs of a challenging episode toward the de-escalation of aggressive behavior.  Used repetitively this technique effectively reduces challenging behaviors and sets into place new skills in collaborative problem-solving for frustrated children to get their needs met.  Based on the work of Ross Greene.

With a master's degree in social work from the University of Michigan, Laura Sanders has been an adjunct instructor in U of M’s graduate program for 22 years and a therapist in the Ann Arbor area for 30 years. She provides private therapy, consultation and training, supervision and expert witness testimony in the areas of sexual abuse and other trauma, attachment and adoption, relational and behavioral problems and issues of gender and sexuality.  Laura’s presentation style is dynamic, including case examples, and experiential activities that invite participation.
