From your first questions to the joy of finalization, our family services help you feel informed, encouraged, and connected throughout your adoption journey.
Adoption Navigators
Adoption Navigators help you "navigate" the adoption process and answer any questions you have. They have many years of parenting experience, have adopted children themselves, and understand foster care and adoption procedures. They have helped many families with their guidance and lived adoption experience.
Our Family Directory gives families the chance to introduce themselves and share their story with youths’ adoption workers. In this secure, password-protected space, you can include your hobbies, interests, community, home life and more to help workers get to know you better.
Enjoy meeting youth in a relaxed and welcoming environment with activities tailored to help you get to know one another. These fun events make it easy to interact, share experiences, and start to build a connection.
Adoption Navigators host quarterly Waiting Family Forums where you can learn more about the inquiry process, ways to make the most of your wait time, and strategies to effectively advocate for yourself during the adoption process.
Match Support is available once you’ve been matched with a youth and are moving forward with adoption. Specialists provide services tailored to your family’s unique needs and interests, supporting your transition and helping with any challenges that may arise along the way.
Adoption Navigators, agencies, community partners, and organizations all offer a variety of training options to help you parent youth with histories of trauma and loss. Training may be in-person or virtual. Check our statewide calendar for upcoming offerings.
