Presque Isle County Adoption Day Celebration
The Presque Isle County Probate and Family Court will be hosting a livestream of the Michigan Supreme Court Adoption Day Ceremony.
National Adoption Month is recognized each November to raise awareness about adoption, emphasize the importance of permanent, loving homes for children, and celebrate the families who make adoption possible. For the past 20 years, Michigan courts have joined this nationwide effort by hosting “Adoption Day” celebrations under the theme “Giving Thanks for Families.” Each year, approximately 30 Michigan counties participate, finalizing more than 100 adoptions statewide.
This year’s Michigan Supreme Court (MSC) ceremony will feature live adoption finalizations from Eaton County Probate Court Judge Amanda G. Pollard, presiding alongside Chief Justice Megan K. Cavanagh and Justice Kimberly A. Thomas, the Court’s child welfare liaison. The program will also include presentations of the Daniel J. Wright Lifetime Achievement Award and the Maura D. Corrigan Foster Family Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing exceptional service and commitment to children and families.
By hosting a local livestream of the MSC ceremony, the Presque Isle County Probate and Family Court joins courts across the state in honoring adoptive families and raising awareness about the ongoing need for adoptive homes in Michigan.
Light refreshments will be served. Please contact the court to verify the event's ending time.
