Join MARE for a relaxed, virtual Meet and Greet where prospective adoptive parents and youth can spend time connecting through fun getting-to-know-you activities and conversation questions. These virtual events help families and youth from across Michigan connect in ways that might not otherwise be possible due to distance. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet, chat, and share a few laughs while getting to know some of MARE’s incredible waiting youth. Families will have some focused time with each youth in small breakout rooms, with MARE staff available to help guide the conversation and support everyone as needed.

Families should log on at 10:45 am and youth at 10:55 am for orientation. 

Adoptive Families: 

• To attend, you must be approved to adopt in Michigan or be a licensed foster parent.
• After you register, you are not yet confirmed to attend until we verify your homestudy with your worker. Once confirmed, you’ll receive the event details and address via email prior to the event.
• Only pre-adoptive parents may attend. Please do not bring other children with you.
• Space is limited, so register early!
• If your plans change, let us know so we can offer your spot to a waitlisted family.

Adoption Workers:

• Priority is given to youth with no pending inquiries, those who have not attended a Meet & Greet, or those who haven’t attended one recently.
• Eligible youth must be legally free for adoption, photolisted on MARE, listed as “Open,” and have no pending inquiries from a previous Meet & Greet.
• Once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the event details and address.
• If a youth’s status may change before the event, please contact Jessica Thompson to discuss the youth’s attendance.
